The end of the second university semester is fast approaching, and the summer isn’t long away. It’s time to think about heading back home for an extended break. If you’re deciding to relocate back home for the summer, you should be aware of the guidelines before moving all your belongings. When the time comes to move out of the house for a second semester of university, Martins Removal Services has put together a resource guide.

Step 1 – Ensure you have all the information you need.

Contacting the university or landlord is essential if you want to learn everything you need to know about moving your stuff out.  Your institution or landlord may offer you specific instructions on what to do on moving day, including dos and don’ts. You might be able to find information on your university’s website as well. Checking all this information will help you get ready for the trip in the best possible way.

Step 2 – What to do with your belongings?

Moving can be very stressful, as we all know.  There are several things to consider before the big day:

  • Do you need storage?
  • Is there anything you can throw away?
  • What you need to go with you?
  • Can you donate unwanted items?

We like to stress the importance of making these decisions a few weeks in advance to remain organised. This is key in order to ensure that you avoid rushing at the last minute and remain stress free!

Step 3 – Our storage option

At Martins Removal Services, we provide an option to store your belongings.  If for instances it doesn’t make sense to take all your goods back home, we will help you store these within a secure location. You are welcome to keep your possessions with us for as long as you choose.

Step 4 – The day of your move.

On the day of your move, make sure all your boxes are properly labelled with what’s inside so that when it comes time to unpack them you don’t have to spend extra time trying to figure out what’s in each box.
